ZELDA 5, OCARINA OF TIME, AUTHOR: UNKNOWN. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kokiri Forest You start the game sleeping inside your home in Kokiri Forest. When Navi the Fairy comes, you'll wake up. Leave your house and run up the small hill and go to the left. Go around or climb over the fences to reach the wall. When the Action button says "Enter", push A (1) - Your first sword and crawl through the passageway. There'll be a maze with a boulder moving through it. Get through the back of the maze and open the chest there to get the Kokiri Sword! (1) Get back out by crawling through the passage again. Run around the grassy areas, jump across the river with square-shaped rocks, and go into Mido's Home and open the chests to find some rupees. When you have at least 40 Rupees, go to the Shop (the house with the red roof) (4) and buy the Deku Shield. Now, go towards the path to the Deku Tree and talk to Mido (the guy that wont let you pass). If you have your sword and shield equipped, he'll let you pass through the path to talk to the Tree. Talk to the Deku Tree and hear what he has to say until it opens up in front. When you can move again, enter the tree through that opening. ___________ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hyrule Castle Now that you're done with Kokiri Forest, it's time to go to Hyrule Castle! From where you spoke with the owl, follow the path through Hyrule Field to the castle gates. You may be stuck fighting throughout the night if you can't get there before sunset. No worry, because you can fend off the skeletons that come out during the night! When morning comes, run across the drawbridge and into the Market. Stop at the guardhouse right after you cross the bridge and destroy all the pots for an easy bunch of rupees! Don't enter the Bazaar and buy the Hylian Shield yet; you can get a discount on it later if you wait a bit. Go through the Market and follow the path out of it to the castle. You can't enter through the gates because they're closed and guards are everywhere, so you're going to sneak in! Speak with Malon by the wall Avoid the guards! with vines on it to get a Weird Egg, then climb the wall. Run across to the gate and go down the ladder and exit the door to get past it! Now the tricky part is avoiding the guards, and I'll try and describe how to get past them as good as I can. When the path turns left for the first time, run up the hill and into the grassy area. Run past the guard and follow the path through the grass to the castle. Before you reach the castle, turn off the path to the left and climb up the wall to the left of the guard and the main entrance. Jump down into the water and swim down the stream until you reach the end where it's blocked. Jump out and walk towards the sleeping man. By now, your Weird Egg has hatched, so use the Rooster to wake him up! He'll talk to you, then run away. Now, push and/or pull the two blocks where he was sitting and push them both over the edge. Jump across to the door with an opening with water coming out and crawl in. Go through the Castle Courtyard while avoiding ALL the guards along the way until you reach Princess Zelda at the end of all that stuff. Talk to her and listen to her story, then she'll give you a letter, which allows you to get through guarded gates without a problem! As you leave, you'll run into Impa. Talk to her and she'll teach you Zelda's Lullaby and escort you out of the castle, away from the guards. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lon Lon Ranch From the castle, run through Hyrule Field until you reach Lon Lon Ranch near the middle of the field. Enter the first house to the left and talk to Talon, the man you woke up at the castle. He'll play a game with you for some rupees; find his three special cuccos and get a Bottle filled with Lon Lon Milk! After you win, go into the ranch itself and talk to Malon. Use your Ocarina and she'll teach you Epona's Song! After that, leave the ranch and head east of the castle to Kakariko Village. __________ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kakariko Village Get to Kakariko Village by crossing the bridge east of the castle and run up the stairs in the mountain to reach the town. Now that you're in Kakariko Village, go up the stairs to the left of the main path, and then go up the next set of stairs near the lookout tower. Go up to the guard by the gate and show him Zelda's Letter. He'll talk to you and he'll eventually tell you to go to the Market and buy the Hylian Shield. You'll get a discount on it after talking to him! After you get the shield, go to the Lost Woods by entering it from Kokiri Forest. From the entrance to the woods, go right into the next area, then go left. Turn right again, and then go left through a couple areas. Then, turn left and finally turn right. Go through the maze at the Sacred Forest Meadow, and talk to Saria at the end. She'll teach you Saria's Song, which lets you speak with her anytime. After that, get all the way back to Kakariko Village by the gate like before. Now that the gate is opened, it's time to go up Death Mountain! As you head up the mountainside, you'll see the Dodongo's Cavern, but there's a boulder blocking the entrance, so just continue up the path for now. When the path splits, take the right path to Goron City -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Goron City Throw a bomb and get a gift! Once there, walk the tightrope right across to the lone Goron sitting on a platform. Talk to him to hear about his brother, Darunia, then walk back across to the ledges by the entrance. Go down the stairs all the way to the bottom level and step on the mat in front of the closed door. Take out your Ocarina and play Saria's Song. Then, when the door opens, stand on the mat in front of Darunia and play Saria's Song again to make him dance! After he's done dancing, he'll give you the Goron's Bracelet, which lets you pick up the Bomb Flowers! Leave Goron City and find the area where there's a Goron sitting there by a group of Bomb Flowers. Then, pick up a Bomb Flower and throw it over the edge at the Cavern far below. If you threw well, you'll destroy the boulder, granting you access to Dodongo's Cavern! Go back down the mountain and enter the cave. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dogongo's Cavern Bomb Flowers are you salvation here From the start, go down the right hill and hug the wall to the right of the lava pool to reach dry land on the other side. Climb up the ladder and take the Bomb Flowers and use them to blow open the doors and the Beamos. Enter the last door and watch out for the enemies here; they explode shortly after you defeat them! At the end of this long room, push an Armos statue onto the switch to remove the bars blocking the door(2). Enter the door and go down the hallway, then enter the next door. Get ready for a little fight here against two very agile Lizalfos. After you beat them, go and enter the next door at the back of this room. Defeat the Dodongos here by getting behind them and hitting their tails with your sword a few times. After they're all defeated, light a Deku Stick and light the other three torches in the room to open the door out of there. Continue through the next room until you end up in the main area again. This time, make your way to the other side of the room and blow open the doors there, too. In the middle room, be sure to take the Map after bombing the room open. Enter the door at the end closest to the big dinosaur head. The secret here is to detonate ALL the Bomb Flowers here at once(3). To do that, pick a Bomb Flower that's NOT on the gray ledge and put it in the empty space in the middle of the ledge. When it explodes, so will the other flowers, which will now trigger the stairs to come down! Climb the stairs and the wall up to the next floor and land on either side because it doesn't matter. Follow the path to where the path connects with the other one and turn left/right depending on what side you're on, and enter the next room. Push all the Armos until you find the one that's a statue and push it away from the ladder so you can get up there! Push the switch to open the door to the next room. In the next room, just run down the hall and make the jump between the broken Push the block to get the COMPASS bridge. In the next room, avoid the blade traps and make your way to the other end of the room. Then, jump on the block and on the ledge right in front of the door. Turn around and jump onto the platform with the Bomb Flower, and pick it up and throw it so it sits on the ledge that you were just standing on.(4) If successful, you'll destroy the door, giving you access to the next room! Go through the path and defeat the Lizalfos in the following room with your sword. Then, enter the next room and follow the hallway through the next room, too. Go through the next hallway and you'll end up in the room you skipped before. Jump across the gap and open up the chest to get the Bomb Bag, which lets you carry Bombs! As a bonus, it already has 20 Bombs inside it! Go through the next hallway and press the switch there to raise a pillar from the bottom of the area to bring you down there quickly when needed. Walk along the ledges and you'll see a bridge. There are two holes in the bridge, which you can easily jump over! Stand next to each hole and drop a Bomb into each of the eyes of the big head below. When Bombs are dropped into both holes, the mouth will open, giving you access to the rest of the cavern! Use the pillar you activated before to get down there and enter the room inside the mouth. Enter the next room and defeat the flying bats here. Then, follow the reachable path around through a couple rooms. Then, follow another path back to the same room, but right behind a block! Push the block down and into the hole where the switch is in middle of the room. Then, enter the next room and drop into the lair of King Dodongo! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Boss The boss of Dodongo's Cavern When he walks towards you, he'll open his mouth wide. Throw a Bomb into his mouth to hurt it and then hit him with your sword. Repeat the process a few more times to defeat it! After you exit the Cavern, Darunia will thank you and give you the Goron's Ruby! _________ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Zora's River To get to Zora's River from Kakariko Village, go left after exiting the town and follow the river into the side of the mountain. Follow Zora's River all the way up to the waterfall at the end. Stand in front of the falls and play Zelda's Lullaby with your Ocarina to Zora's Domain Entrance open the cave behind the waterfall Jump across into the cave to reach Zora's Domain! Follow the dry path up to the Zora Shop and go up the hill and the stairs to reach King Zora. Stand on the platform and talk to him, and he'll tell you that Princess Ruto is missing! Take the path from the left and play the game that the Zora's offers. If you win, you'll get the Scale, that allow you to dive deeper! Get back down to the big lake downstairs in Zora's Domain. Dive in the water and swim towards the wall where the hill was, and go into the underwater hole because it leads to Lake Hylia! Once there, swim a little bit out and dive underwater again and take the Bottle with a message inside. Then, go back to Zora's Domain through that underwater passage you used to get there and go back up the hill and show King Zora the message. He'll then move over, letting you get into Zora's Fountain and Jabu-Jabu. Go down to the shallow sections of the Domain and catch a fish in your Bottle, then go behind King Zora and head to Zora's Fountain, home of Jabu-Jabu! Feed Jabu-Jabu the fish and he'll suck you into his insides. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Inside Jabu-Jabu Inside Jabu Jabu From the start, defeat all the enemies in the room, and then shoot the switch on the ceiling to open the door. Then, go right through the next room and enter the following room. (Don't worry, you'll come back to it later!) Talk to Princess Ruto(1) and she'll walk away from you and fall into a hole in the floor! Save her by jumping into the hole after her and you'll land in the basement. Talk to her again and she'll finally let you carry her around. Go through the door behind you and go down the hallway while avoiding the floating bubbles. In the next room, drop into the middle area and throw Ruto onto the platform at the other side of the room. Then, press the switch to make the water rise, and swim up to reach the other side, too. Run through the next hallway, still avoiding the bubbles, and when you reach the door, turn around and shoot the switch in the ceiling to open it! Enter the next room and Press this switch dodge the enemy's attacks while waiting for the floating platform to come down to the basement. When it comes, jump on and ride up to the first floor again where you were before. Walk along the ledge and enter the next room with the holes in the floor. This time, make your way to the other end of the room and enter the door to the next area. When the path splits, take the far right path and step on the switch. If the door shuts again if you get off the switch, place Ruto on the switch to keep it open for you. (This goes for all the switches in this area.) Defeat ALL the enemies in this room to get the Boomerang (2)! Leave the room and take the second right and enter the room. Defeat the Green Parasite Tentacle swinging from the ceiling by aiming and throwing your Boomerang at its narrow weak spot a few times. After you defeat it, the big barrier in the room with the holes will disappear! Go back to the room with the holes, and drop into the new hole. You'll drop onto a ledge in the basement, which you couldn't reach otherwise. Enter the door there and when she asks you to, throw Ruto onto the platform so she can get the jewel there. The platform will take her up a couple Octopus, the mini-boss floors and bring a giant octopus down to attack you! Defeat it by running around and around until you finally get behind it. Then, use the Boomerang and attack the weak spot with the sword. Repeat the process a few more times to defeat it, then climb onto the platform to get to the second floor. Go down the hallway and enter the next room. Use the Boomerang to make the shaky blocks (3) stay still for a while, then jump across them to the other side! In the next room, jump onto the ledge and ride it down to the first floor again in that room you skipped earlier. This time, you're now able to reach the switch there. Get a crate from the nearby ledge and put it on the switch to keep the door open for you. Enter the next room and climb up the vines on the wall in back of the room. Stand a little bit back from the glass panel and use Z-Targeting to aim at the switch at the other side. Once your aim is set, throw the Boomerang so it swings around the glass and hits the switch! Now, get back down to the ground and enter the now opened door. Go down the hall and enter the next door to reach the boss, Barinade! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Boss The boss of Dodongo's Cavern Defeat it by using Z-Targeting on the huge tentacles on top of it and hitting them with your Boomerang. When the jellyfish guys start swinging around the room, use your sword to destroy them all. When they spin REALLY FAST around the boss, use the Boomerang and hope it hits the middle of the boss. Run in and attack with the sword a few times. Repeat the last few steps to defeat the boss! After you leave Jabu-Jabu, Ruto will give you Zora's Sapphire, the last Spiritual Stone! ______________ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Temple of Time 1-The Ocarina Of Time! After you get the last Spiritual Stone, head to Hyrule Castle to tell Zelda. When you get there, Gannondorf has come and Zelda has been taken from the castle with Impa. She'll drop the Ocarina of Time(1) in the stream around the castle, so after the scene is over and you can move, dive into the water to get it. Go to the Temple of Time and play Zelda's Lullaby in front of the altar to open the door. Enter the next room and take the Master Sword. You'll be warped ahead 7 years in time, and you'll meet Sheik and the Sage Rauru. Sheik will teach you the Song of Time and tell you to go to Kakariko Village. Once at the village, head to the graveyard and go up to the Royal Tomb. Play Zelda's Lullaby to open up the tomb, then enter the underground chamber. Go all the way through the tomb until you reach the wall with the hieroglyphics in it. Read them to learn the Sun's Song, which makes the sun rise/set at anytime. Exit the tomb and head towards the spot where the bean hole used to be and pull on the tombstone at the end of the line. (You can identify the tomb, it has 3 flowers in front of it)(2). Go underground and Dampe will race you, so just follow him closely. When you get to the end, you'll get 2-Find the 3 flowers and move the grave the Hookshot! After that, enter the last room and play the Song of Time to make the blue block disappear. Follow the path to get inside the windmill, then exit it through the door. Now, go to the Lost Woods and follow the path like before to reach the Sacred Forest Meadow. Make your way through the maze while avoiding the Moblins and the club- pounding enemy by the stairs. When you finally reach the meadow, Sheik will teach you the Minuet of Forest, which warps you to that spot at any time, from anywhere! Use the Hookshot on the branch above you to reach the entrance of the Forest Temple. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Forest Temple First thing to do, is in the very first room, the entryway with the trees and the wolves, is climb up the vines on the right wall and then jump from tree to tree to get the small chest up on the left wall containing a small key. Now enter the temple. Kill the giant Skulltula in this hallway (it only takes 1 regular hit now with Adult Link's more powerful Master Sword) and enter the Big Room. You'll see some ghosts making off with some torch flames. Now go straightforward and enter the door up the stairs on the other side. They'll be a blue flaming skull here. Z target it and use your shield (R button) until it runs into your shield. That will get rid of its blue flame. Then just take it out with your sword. Go through the next room and you'll be in the Lower Stalfos room. It's a large round room that contains two enemies, the skeletal Stalfos. Using a combination of Z targeting, effective use of your shield, side jumps, and backflips, and some good slashes and jump slashes you should be able to take them out with a bit of practice. Remember that you can't block their jump attack so if they do one, backflip (back+A) to avoid it then counterstrike. One good thing is that for the most part the one you aren't focused on leaves you alone. Once these guys are toast, you'll be rewarded with a second small key. Kill the pots in the room and one should contain a life- giving faerie. Now return to the Big Room. Go to your right to a small Play Song of Time here corridor with a blue block in it. Play the Song of Time to get rid of the block and go through. This room, the West Plant Room, contains some man-eating plants that are much tougher than previous ones. Make your way to the vine-covered wall to your right. Kill whatever Skulltulas you can reach with your Hookshot and climb up the right side of the vines...you'll have to make you way up slowly and try to avoid the Skulltula that is left. Remember that if it doesn't see you it can't get you. If you have to when it comes at you push A to drop down and then grab back on and try again. Once you make it into the alcove with the doorway go in the door and kill the annoying blue flaming skull. You'll be rewarded with the dungeon map. Go through the next door and you'll find yourself on a balcony. Notice that the balcony next to you has a gray circle icon above the doorway. Use your Hookshot and shoot that gray icon thing to fly over to the other balcony. Step on the switch in there then kills the Skulltula with your Hookshot and uses the vines to climb down. Make your way to the well you saw get drained and climb down it. Run down this corridor to the other side and open the chest there to get your third small key. Now climb up the vines and you'll be back in the West Plant Room. Go out the door you came in and you'll find yourself back in the Big Room. Now go through the locked door to your right. Kill the Skulltula and go through the door in the small hallway. In the next room, which I refer to as the block puzzle Follow the yellow arrows room, climb up the two ladders and then follow the yellow arrows on the floor to walk around until you hit the back of the blue movable block. Push it until it's even with the hallway going the other way, then back up and go up the ladder you passed while pushing it. Up here go around until you meet a second movable block. Push this one until it stops moving, then go back, take a left, and fall off the ledge to fall back down to where the first block was. When you bump into it push it as far as it will go, then loop around to the other side of it and push it as far as it will go again. It will fall down slightly and you'll get that tone telling you solved a secret. Now climb up the block and then climb up the wall next to it and you'll bump into the second block again...push this one as far as it will go then climb it and the wall behind it. Follow the passageway around to a ladder and climb up it, then keep going and you'll see a locked door. Go through and you'll find yourself in the West Twisted Hallway. Follow it until you reach the West Twisted Room. Watch out for hands falling from the ceiling and hop across the stones to another locked door. Go through it and you'll be in the west stairway. Climb down the stairs and enter the Upper Stalfos Room. You've got a tough battle here. Kill the first Stalfos while avoid the pit and then two more will come after you. Unlike the previous two, with these two if you kill one and take too long killing the other, the first one will come back! Don't panic, keep your head, and I hope you put some faeries in your bottles from the forest meadow maze earlier! The reward for this tough battle is the awesome Bow(3). Now take your new bow and go BACK (yes, back, not forward) to the stairway you entered from. You should have seen a red ghost laughing at you right? Well, as soon as you got close she disappeared. This time shoot her with your arrow before you get close enough to make her disappear. If you get her in all three pictures she'll fight you. She's just like Flames! the composer brothers in the graveyard. Just keep blocking her attack until she appears and then letter have it with a jump slash. When she's dead you'll have recovered the first flame from the Poe Sisters and you'll be rewarded with a small key. Now go back into the Upper Stalfos Room and go out the other door. Here you'll face the blue Poe Sister. Deal with her the same as the red one and get the compass as reward. You need another key before you can go on, so go BACK again through the Upper Stalfos Room, past the West Stairway, back through the West Twisted Room and West Twisted Hallway and finally you'll find yourself back at the end of the block puzzle room. Above the doorway to the West Twisted Hallway is a gray eye(1). Shoot it with your arrow and the hallway will straighten. Now go through the hallway to the Twisted Room and you'll be at a different angle now. This time, drop to the floor and The Boss Key open the gold chest to get the Boss key, then drop down the hole in the floor. Kill the flaming blue skulls in this room and go out the door. Now you're on the balcony of the West Plant Room. Walk along the balcony and enter the door on your right to get to a room with a very tough Living Hand monster. Remember to kill all it's parts quickly when it splits or it will join back together. You'll get the second small key you need. Go out the door, take a right and go through that door. You're back in the block puzzle room. Make your way up to the door to the West Twisted Hallway and shoot the gray eye again to turn it back The Grey Eye into a twisted hallway. Go through the Hallway, the Twisted Room, the West Stairway, the Upper Stalfos Room, and finally the East Stairway ending with a locked door. Go through this locked door and you're in the East Twisted Room. Hang a right and you'll be in the East Twisted Hallway (which is currently straight). Kill these Green Flaming Skulls the same as the blue ones - Z Target and hold down R and walk into them, then kill with sword. They're easier then the blue ones. Go through the locked door at the end of the hallway and you'll be in a rotating blocks room. Jump on one of the blocks and aim your arrow toward the frozen eye that's on one wall. Wait until the torch in the middle of the room is between you and they eye and then fire your arrow. The arrow will fly through the torch's flame, light on fire, then hit the eye, melt the ice, and activate the eye. (2) Now the Hallway will be twisted so go back through it. Fall down the hole in the bottom of the Twisted Room and you'll be in the falling ceiling room. To your right is a small hall and door that leads to the balcony of the East Plant Room. Don't bother the only thing there is a small chest containing a heart. Instead, wait until the ceiling falls and as it's rising again run to the small yellow switch along the right wall. Stand on it and stay on it until the ceiling falls and you won't get hurt. Then run to the square just left of the small treasure chest when the ceiling rises again. Get the treasure (some arrows) and wait for the ceiling to fall. Then run through the door to the picture puzzle room. Shoot the picture on the wall with an arrow to get the puzzle going. You then have to push blocks around until they match the picture on the wall (look at the top of the blocks and ignore the pictures on their sides). One of the blocks is a nonsense block and is just there to confuse you. If you don't make it in time the blocks will rotate to a new configuration and you'll be given a bit more time. Keep trying, eventually it should give you enough time to do it. Once you get the picture you'll have to fight the green Poe Sister. Knock her around to get back the green flame and then go through the door. Kill the Skulltula and go through the next door and you're back in the Big Room. Jump over the fence and fight the final Poe Sister. She'll split up into 4 ghosts. Watch carefully, after they split it, one of them will do a quick 360 spin and the others won't. The one that spins is the real one. Shoot her with an arrow using Z targeting. Once she's dead the tile in the middle of the floor will become an elevator. Ride it down to the Revolving Room. This one took me a while to figure out. Stand at the right of one of the rig rock platforms sticking out of the wall and push A to grab it, then push. After a while of pushing the room will rotate. Go through any opening and step on switches, get treasures, and kill monsters until finally the room rotates around to the now opened hallway leading to the Boss Room. Now go through the Boss door and climb the stairs, then walk over the Triforce symbol and then try to go back out. Your way will be blocked and you'll now be facing Phantom Gannon. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Boss Phantom Ganon Phantom Gannon has two phases. In the first phase, he rides into a picture and then two of him rides back. One of them is fake. Stand in the middle of the room with and arrow ready to fire and rotate around scanning the pictures. When one of the pictures has Phantom start coming back out of the picture (a bunch of purple light will appear) fire an arrow at him right away. If you hit him he'll retreat and you can do it again. If you miss he'll zap you for a big time hurt. After you've done this 3 times he'll lose the horse and start flying around the room shooting bolts at you. You'll quickly notice that you can block the bolts but you can't seem to hurt him at all. Well, next time Phantom Gannon shoots a bolt at you hit it with your sword to shoot it back at him. HOWEVER, watch out as he might hit it back at you again! So be ready to hit it again if it comes flying back to you. Sometimes you'll hit it back and forth like 10 times before it finally gets him. The more times it bounces back and forth the more it hurt too. When it does hit him he'll fall to the ground. Take this opportunity to give it to him with a jump slash from your sword. Then he'll fly back up again. The more times the bolt bounced before hitting him the longer he'll be on the ground. Keep doing this until he dies. Sometimes when he's almost dead he'll fly toward you with a super powerful spear stab. Try to dodge it if you can, you can't block it. Also, remember to stay far away from him when he's firing bolts because it will make it easier to hit them back at him. Once he's dead you'll get a message from the real Gannondorf. Grab your heart container and get out of the temple via the blue light. After you exit the temple, you'll get the Forest Medallion from the Forest Sage, Saria! ______________________ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Death Mountain Crater After you meet Saria again, head back to the Temple of Time. Once there, head to the area where the Master Sword was and Sheik will appear and teach you the Prelude of Light. He'll also tell you how to become a kid again! After he disappears again, since you don't need to be young right now, go up to Goron City. Stand on the level where the Goron is rolling around like a ball, and stand near the Bomb Flowers. When he comes closer, place a Bomb Flower in middle of the floor and it'll hopefully explode as he passes near it. When he stops and talks to you, he'll give you a Goron Tunic, which allows you to survive inside the Death Mountain Crater! Head down to the lowest level of the city and enter Darunia's room. He's not there right now, so try and pull on the statue in his room. Once the passage is revealed, follow the path to the crater. Once there, put on the tunic so you can last a while. Then, walk up to the broken bridge and use the Hookshot to cross to the other side. Then, Sheik will appear again and teach you the Bolero of Fire, which warps you into the crater at any time. After that, follow the path to a ladder, which leads down to the Fire Temple -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Fire Temple From the start of the temple, go up the stairs and enter the left door. After Darunia finishes talking to you, make your way to the left side of the room and push the switch to free a Goron. Enter the cell to claim a key, then leave this room. This time, enter the door at the other side. Make your way across the lava to the right side of the room and enter the door. Free the Goron and get the key, then leave that room. Now, get to the far end of the room and enter the door there. Push the switch, free the Goron, and take the key. Then, leave the room and head over to the bridge. Cross the bridge and enter the door you haven't yet entered, and slide down the wooden plank there. Climb the fence to the right and once at the top, defeat the bats and drop onto the top of the platform below. Push the block off the edge so it covers up the flaming geyser on the ground. Then, jump on the block and you'll get a free ride up to the second floor. Ignore the imprisoned Goron for now and climb up the nearby ledge. Push the block over the edge, and then jump down to the ground and push the block along its path until it stops. Then, climb back up the ledge and jump on top of the block and climb the fence-like wall. Stand near the edge of the platform and shoot your Hookshot at the switch below, which extinguishes the flame at the bottom of the other wall. Quickly climb the other wall before the flames come back and enter the door up there. Avoid the boulders and make your way to the right, then into a small alcove where you can free a Goron and get a key. After that, get to the other end of the room and enter the door in another alcove and free another Goron and take another key. Then, hug the right wall until you reach a door, and enter it. Go across to the other end of the room and enter the other door, then walk across the wooden plank to the grill-like floor. Quickly run all the way to the other end of the room or else the curtain of fire behind you will hurt you badly. In the next room, jump onto the ledge where the Torch Slug is, and defeat it. Lay a bomb by the crack and jump to another ledge to avoid getting caught in an explosion. Drop into the hole it makes and free the Goron and get the key. Then, go back to where you were just moments before. Jump down to another ledge and push the switch, then make your way to the south end of the room. Go into the now opened cell and take the key and then drop down to the ground. Head to the other end of the room and enter the door to the left. Go across the platform and enter the next room and get onto the grill platforms. This time, instead of going to the end of the room, jump onto the ledge about halfway to the left and enter the door. Go down the hallway and go to the following room and make your way to the door in the room. Pass the cell containing the Goron right now, and enter the other half of the maze room. Head towards the switch and push it, then run towards the other door before the fire curtain comes again to block access to it. Place a bomb by the door because it'll come to life, then enter the real door after the bomb explodes. Defeat the Flare Dancer in the room by using the Hookshot on its core, then attacking it with the sword. After it dies, climb onto the platform in middle of the room to ride up to the fourth floor. In the next room, climb the wall, hit the switch below, and climb the other wall like you did earlier, and enter the door. Hit the switch nearby and run up the stairs to get the Megaton Hammer! Go back down the stairs and use the hammer on the platform to drop to the fourth floor again. Hit the rusty switch with the hammer to lower the stairs, then pick up a box and carry it down the steps. Drop it on top of the switch to keep the door open, then enter the door to the next room. In the next room, hammer down the platform to drop down another floor. Hit the rusty switch, open the door, and jump across the gap to reach the blue block. Play the Song of Time in front of the block to make it disappear from this spot, then hammer the switch. Drop into the pit, free the Goron, get the key, and climb the blue block to reach the other side again. Jump across to the remaining platform and hammer it a couple times and get ready to freefall down a couple stories! Once there, exit through the door that leads to the entrance of the temple and go down the stairs. Hammer the statue apart and enter the room, then defeat the enemies there and enter the following room. Enter the next door and defeat the Flare Dancer there, then enter the next door. Push the switch, free the Goron, and get the Boss Key! Now, leave the room and go back up the stairs and enter the left door. Cross the lava pit and open the Boss Door to reach Volvagia, the dragon boss! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Boss Volvagia To defeat it, when it comes out of any of the holes in the platform, hammer its head and then attack with your sword. Repeat the process until it burns up in the air and dies. Take the Heart Container and enter the light. After you meet Darunia again as the Sage of Fire, he'll give you the Fire Medallion! _____________ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Ice Cavern After the story sequence you'll be just outside the Fire Temple. Walk back over the bridge (use your hookshot to cross where's it's broken) but instead of going out the cave, walk over the next bridge to a cave blocked off by red boulders. Use your hammer to smash the boulders and go inside to the 4th Great Faerie who will double your magic meter. Now you can either walk down Death Mountain or you can use the Prelude of Light to warp to the Temple of Time, walk outside, and summon Epona with Epona's Song. Either way, head on over to Zora's River. Make your way up the river just like the last time and just like the last time, play Zelda's Lullaby on the Triforce symbol in front of the water fall. Unlike last time, however, you'll find that the water world is now an ice world. Go up to the King's room and go around behind him to enter Zora's Fountain. Now hop on the ice blocks and make your way to a cave there known as the Ice Cavern. The Ice Cavern is a fairly straight forward level. Just make sure you have a couple of bottles to use to store the magic blue fire in. You'll need at least two to carry back out with you - one for the King and one for the Zora store. Now, from the entrance of the Ice Cavern, follow the path until you reach a room with a revolving spike thing and some ice statue guys. Kill the ice statue guys to open the door to the next corridor. At the end of this corridor you'll be in a room with a big helicopter-blade thing made of ice. You'll have to run around and collect all the silver rupees to open the blocked door. One of them is right next to the exit door floating in the air. Go through the door and tunnel and fight your way through the next room until you get to a room with some ice bridges everywhere. Go up on the ice bridges and get to that blue fire. Now use all your empty bottles on that blue fire to collect it for future use. Use one of them to melt the red ice around the treasure box at the end of the bridge to get the dungeon map. Make sure to refill it (you need two bottles at least), and go back to the helicopter blade room. There are two additional exits from this room that are covered with red ice. Use your bottles of blue fire to melt them. Go through the one to the East (the one with two pots next to it). It leads to a small round room containing another blue fire thing. Refill your bottles and use them to melt a heart container piece and a treasure box containing the compass. Now refill them again and go back to the helicopter blade room and then through the West exit. The basic idea behind this next room is to push that block of ice around and use it to get where you want. The following directions pertain to the direction you were facing when you first walked in. First, push it left and get the silver rupee there. Then forward and get that one. Then (careful not to fall of the edge!) push it right, then back toward the entrance to get another silver rupee there. Then push it off of one of the edges and a new one will appear. Push this one forward then right and climb up to melt the last silver rupee with your blue fire. Then push this one off the edge to get another new block. Push this one left, forward, right, back, and then left to get to the exit and go through it. You'll have to use some blue fire to melt some red ice in your way in this corridor. Open the ice door and you'll face an ice wolf. Kill it and receive the Iron Boots. Sheik will come and teach you the Serenade of Water. Use your new Iron Boots to sink into the water behind the treasure chest and walk to the end of the passage. Take the boots off once you emerge from the water. You're now back in the first room. Before leaving the ice cavern, go back to the small round room where you got the heart container piece and the compass (East of the helicopter blade room) and fill two bottles with fire. Then go back out the way you came in. Leave Zora's fountain and use a blue fire on the frozen King Zora. Talk to him and he'll give you the Zora Tunic, which keeps you from drowning. Go down and use your other blue fire on the doorway to the Zora Store. Now play your Serenade of Water and you'll warp to Lake Hylia. Run forward and jump into the water in front of you. Make sure you're wearing Zora's Tunic and then turn around and equip the Iron Boots. Use your hookshot to hit the blue diamond above the doorway and it will open. Go inside and you're now in the Water Temple so take off those Iron Boots. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Water Temple (The Keys of this level are marked in a different color) Drop into the water and swim along the right wall to a ledge. Then equip your Iron Boots and drop down to the bottom. Find the tunnel with the torches on either side of it and go in there to meet Ruto. Walk to the center of the room after she leaves and take off your Iron Boots to float up. Play Zelda's Lullaby in front of the Triforce symbol that's there and the water level will lower. Go through the door that's there to get your dungeon map. Drop down and you'll be in a room with two unlit torches and a lit one. Light the torches by shooting arrows through the lit torch or use Din's Fire. Go in there and kill the clam guys. Z target a clam and hold down your hookshot button to aim at it, then walk up to it until it opens its mouth and then release the button to fire the hookshot. Kill them this way because in a bit you're going to have no choice but to kill clam guys with your hookshot. Get the key that's on the chess. Now go back into the main room. Follow the left wall, skip the next tunnel and go on to the tunnel after that with the block in front of it. Push the block all the way forward and it will drop down. Jump down and go down the passageway then up the other side. Now hit the shock switch (the thing that looks like a diamond) and jump onto the geyser that shoots up then jump over to the other side. If you fall down there's a hookshot target you can use to get back up. Now you'll be in a room with a big whirlpool. Equip your Iron boots to sink down. Go stand on the piping under the water across from the stone head. Aim your hookshot to hit the crystal shock switch in its mouth, then turn and fire the hookshot at the hookshot target inside the underwater passage. Go down the passage and float up and grab the key, then hit the shock switch that's in there to reopen the gate and use your Iron Boots to walk back out. Take off the boots and float back out of the whirlpool and make your way back to the main room. You'll need to use the hookshot to get out of the hole at the end of the tunnel. Stand on the block you dropped down then look up and you'll see a hookshot target you can use. You should have 2 keys now. Go to the tower in the middle of the main room and find the locked door and go through it. Use your hookshot to go up to the ledge above you then play Zelda's Lullaby in front of the Triforce symbol to raise the water level. Now put on your Iron Boots and drop back down. Underneath where the block was is now a hole. Drop down and follow this corridor and you'll end up in a room with a shock switch. Hit it with your hookshot from a distance and back away as a bunch of baddies drop down from the ceiling. Here's a battle tip for you. Z target the rock thing (the thing that turns into a spiked ball when you get to close) and hit it with your hookshot to kill it and it won't even be able to attack you. If it does come at you, block it with your shield and it will turn back into a rock thing. Walk around Z targeting all the rock things and kill them and you'll be left with two clams. Kill them using the hookshot method you used before. Once they are all dead a grate on the other side of the room will open in the ceiling. Float up there to get another key. Go back to the tower room and go through the upper door. Walk around until you see a tunnel with two pots in front of it and go in there. Follow the passage, use your hookshot to get over the spikes, then use your hookshot again on the ceiling to get up in the room. Go stand next to the treasure chest and shoot an arrow at the shock switch. Then get the compass. Go back out to the main room. Jump in the water, put on your boots, and sink to the bottom. Walk into the room where you met Ruto (the one with the torches on either side of the entrance) and float up. Blow open the crack in the wall to get your third key. Now go back into the main room, unequip your boots and swim left across the wall. Enter the first locked door you see. Go stand on the water geyser and then shoot an arrow at the shock switch to have it shoot you up to the next room (you can also use a bomb if you are out of arrows). Go through the door and you're at the high water level Triforce mark. Play Zelda' Lullaby to raise the water level to its highest point. Now drop into the water and swim left to a locked door and go through it. Hop down two platforms and this platform will move. When it's at its lowest point jump to the non-moving platform to your right. Now use your hookshot on the hookshot targets on the fronts of the moving platforms to make your way up to the top of the waterfall and go through the locked door. Now you're in the water level puzzle room. If you mess up at any part of this room and fall in and the water level is low, use your iron boots to sink to the bottom then use the hookshot to hit the shock switch and raise the water level, then float up and climb back on to the starting platform to start over. Use your hookshot on the shock switch in the middle of the room to raise the water, then hookshot over to the statue nearest you. Now shoot the switch again with the hookshot and the water will lower. Walk to the back corner of this platform and look to your right. Use the hookshot on the hookshot target on the wall to get over to the next platform. Climb over the statue head and walk to the edge and shoot the switch again to raise the water again. Now hookshot to the next statue and hit the switch once again to lower the water. Now stand on top of the statue's head and shoot the switch a final time to be taken up to the next level. Kill the annoying spider things and kill the Shield-eater with arrows then use the hookshot target in the ceiling to get over the spikes. Go through the door and you'll find yourself at a big lake with a dead tree in the middle and a pillar on the opposite side. The lake is an illusion. Just walk over it and walk up to the pillar on the other side. You can't get in the door, so turn around and you'll come face to face with...yourself! In the form of Dark Link Okay, this guy may seem impossible but there's a trick that makes him easy to beat. First, stand on the island in the center of the lake and make sure he stands on it too. For some reason, if he's standing on the island he won't attack nearly as well. Some say it has something to do with the lack of a reflection. You can also use the islands to either side but there's a glitch in the game that sometimes causes him to be stuck in the wall and you can't get him, so use the middle island. Anyway, once you've done that try hitting him with your hammer. If he blocks, take out your sword and hit him once with a regular swing (NOT a stab) and he'll deflect it but then be vulnerable, so take out your hammer again and it should hit this time. Then just keep smacking him with the hammer while staying on that island and he'll go down in no time. If you can't get this to work use Din's Fire or swing madly at him with the Big Goron's Sword. Now the lake will disappear and reveal where you really were...just a large room. Go through the now unblocked door and get your nice new shiny Longshot. Now look behind the chest and there's a temple of time block. Get rid of it with the Song of Time and drop down the hole. You'll be at the mouth of a river. Swim down river and when you start coming close to a whirlpool, use your Iron Boots to wade past it. If you get caught in its pull and can't get out, try to get as far away from it is possible and then take off the Iron Boots and start tapping your B button like mad to swim away from it. Make your way to a small platform on the left side of the river, just before a particularly strong whirlpool. Use an arrow to shoot the gold eye across from you and a grate will open with a treasure box behind it. Use your hookshot on the treasure box to fly across, avoiding the last 2 whirlpools, and open the box to get a key. Go down the hallway and you're back at that whirlpool you got a key from earlier. Now make your way back to the main room (you should know the way) and with your Iron Boots on go once again through the tunnel with the torches on either side where you met Ruto, and float up to the water level changing switch. Play Zelda's Lullaby to change the water level, then drop down and go back into the main room. Go into the tower and play Zelda's Lullaby there to raise the water to the middle level. Exit the door and go around the tower to the back. There's a tunnel here with a grate and a gold eye below the entry. Shoot the gold eye with an arrow then quickly use your Hookshot on the Hookshot target at the end of the hall. Follow the passage until you hit a movable block on your right. Pull it to the left until it stops, then go down to the end of that passage. Hookshot up the hole in the ceiling and you'll end up back in the main room again. Drop down, shoot the eye with an arrow again and hookshot into the passage. This time when you hit the block push it forward out of your way, turn right and get the key. Now go back the other way again and use your hookshot to fly up the hole in the ceiling and return to the main room. Sink down to the bottom and go into the passage to the left of the passage leading to the room where you met Ruto. Float up the other side. Use your hookshot to get over the spikes and go through the locked door. In this room kill as many of those spider things as you can first then use your Iron Boots to wade through the middle of the water, avoiding the whirlpools and the boulder. Float up and out on the other side and go through the door. Drop to the nearest ledge on your right and blow open the crack in the wall. Don't go through it yet. Instead, swim across to the left platform and blow open the discolored bricks. Go through this one and push that block that's in there all the way forward. Now loop back around to the first hole and go in there and pull the block as far as you can. Loop back around once again and push it the rest of the way onto the underwater switch. This will raise the water level. Float up with it and go through the door (not the one you came through, the other one. It's got steps in front of it). Now in this room step on the floor switch and quickly cross the gap by hopping on the water geysers then go through the door. You don't have to jump on the third geyser, you can make the jump from the second to the door to save time. In here avoid the boulder and head right (upstream) then use your boots to sink into the deep water. Walk along the passage, float up the other side and go through the locked door. Get the Boss key from the treasure chest. Now go back outside, go down stream and you're back in that room with all the spider things and the vortex's. Go back through the door you first came in and make your way back to the main room again. Once there float up and go through the door with the red block floating in front of it and raise the water to the highest level. Now look for one of those dragon head statues with a hookshot target on it. Use the hookshot to get over there and go through the door behind it. Go up the ramp while trying to avoid those moving spike things (this is a lot harder than it sounds). Try going up the right side when the first spike thing is moving to the left and about halfway over and keep running straight up) and go through the boss door. Jump onto one of the platforms and you'll get a warning about the water. Now you'll meet... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Boss This boss is fairly tough but not overly so. When it start to morph into a tentacle just get far away from it. You can use your hookshot on the targets on the walls to get away faster. I stayed on the outside edge all the time so as to avoid falling in the water. Now once you're far enough away Z target that little red thing and when it stops spinning around so much, use your hookshot to pull it out of the tentacle and bring it toward you. Then hit it with your sword. Another method is using your Din's Fire spell. Stay fairly close to the tentacle that has the little red thing in it. When it's about to grab you use Din's Fire and the tentacle will dissolve. Then quickly do a Jump attack (push A) on the red thing to get in a nice solid hit. Another idea is to try to corner the red thing and just wail on it not letting it get back into the water. After a bit it will start using two tentacles which is more difficult. If one of the tentacles gets you you're in for some serious damage. Just keep doing either or both of these methods and that little red thing will finally die. The water will drain so go nab your heart container and step in the blue light and you're finally past this hellish level. ____________________ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Kakariko Well After you've beaten the Water Temple, go to Kakariko Village again. There'll be a house there in flames and Sheik will come and tell you about the demons that have come out of the well. Watch the scene for a moment, and when Sheik talks to you again, he'll teach you the Nocturne of Shadow. After that, go to the windmill and talk to the guy, then show him the ocarina. He'll teach you the Song of Storms, which lets you make the rain on or off at any time anywhere! Now that you know the song, go to the Temple of Time and revert back to your younger form, then go back to the windmill. Play the Song of Storms for the man, then leave the windmill and climb into the well. Bottom of the Well Crawl through the hole and climb down the ladder. Kill the skulltula then walk straight forward right through the wall in front of you (yes, you read right, this level has walls you can walk through, invisible floors, etc.). Now you're in the main well room. Watch out for the giant green flaming skull flying around and just keep running straight forward through another wall. Now ignore everything in this room but watch out, there's a small invisible pit right in the center of the room where all that blood is. Move around the pit and keep moving forward to the opposite wall and, again, walk through it. Now stand on the Triforce symbol in front of you and play Zelda's Lullaby. The water will drain out. Now turn around and go back through the wall, avoid the pit, through the next wall, and you're back where you started, except now there's a big pit in front of you. Fall down it and crawl through the hole that's down there. Kill the skulltula, climb up the vines and go through the door to the Bottom of the Well boss. This guy is scary but easy. It's basically a swing-your-sword-wildly-at- anything-that-moves affair. You can kill the hands coming out of the ground. If they grab you just wildly mash your buttons until they let go and keep slashing at them. You don't need to kill the hands, just the weird thing walking around trying to bite you. Once it's dead, a treasure box will appear containing the Lens of Truth. Use the lens of truth in this room and you'll find an invisible treasure box. Open it for 200 rupees. Now if you wish, you can just leave now by playing the Prelude of Light . (If you want, you can keep reading to find the 3 Skulltulas that's on the level) First, leave this room, climb through the hole and up the vines to get out of the pit. Now go down the left path a little bit and if you use your lens you'll see a small alcove in the right hand wall. Go in and retrieve the key that's there. Now leave the alcove and go left (back toward the starting point). Keep going and you'll hit a left turn. Turn and use your lens and you'll see another alcove containing another key. Now leave the alcove and continue down the corridor. A little ways more and you'll see a cage with a Shield-eater in it. Directly across from it is a wall you can walk through. Go through it and walk straight across the room (avoid the pit in the middle! You can see it with your lens now). Go through the opposite wall and down the small corridor. You'll see a grate ahead of you. Fall down the pit you come to, walk under the grate, and climb up the vines on the opposite side and go through the door. Now in this next room is a mummy. Use your Song of the Sun to stun it and kill it with your sword. Now take out a Deku stick and light it with the torch but DO NOT LIGHT ANY TORCHES with it yet. All these torches open the coffin next to them and will release more enemies. You need to light a specific torch. It's the torch in the corner furthest from the door and to the left when looking from the door. Light the torch and the coffin will open letting out two bats. Kill the bats and inside the coffin is the third and final small key. If the bats burned away your Deku shield don't worry you can get another free one on the way to the third spider. Now head out of this room, fall down the pit and climb up the other side, and go straight through the wall in front of you. Look left and there's a locked door. Go through and kill the plant, watch out for the pots, they attack you, and there's spider number 1. Leave and turn left, avoid the pit, and there's another locked door on the other side of the room. In here is a bunch of bats and a big pit in the middle. Don't worry, there's an invisible floor. Just walk around the outside of the pit and you won't fall in. The spider is in the opposite corner of the room from where you entered. Now leave the room, turn left immediately and walk through the wall. Turn left again and continue down this corridor. You'll see some kind of face picture on the wall at the end of the corridor. Right underneath it is a pit so don't fall down it. Now turn right at the end of the corridor and you'll be at a dead end with a hole to crawl through. Crawl through and go through the locked door. Before moving into this room use your lens to see all the pits spread all over the place. Kill the bats and kill the laser shooting thing in the middle of the room by throwing a bomb at it. The chest in this room contains a replacement Deku shield if you lost yours. Go through the door and you'll be in the cage with the Shield-eater. Avoid it when it tries to suck you into it and hit it with your boomerang or sword when it stops. Kill the third and final gold skulltula in this room. Now use your Ocarina and play the Prelude of Light to warp out of this hellhole and end up back in the Temple of Time. Go into the Master Sword room and replace the Master Sword to warp to the future and continue your main quest. Pat yourself on the back for getting 3 well-earned skulltulas and the Lens of Truth. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Shadow Temple Now, warp to the Temple of Time and become Adult Link again and play the Nocturne of Shadow to warp to the entrance to the Shadow Temple. To enter this castle, you'll need the Din's Fire. Check out the Items Section to learn how to get it. From the start, walk up to the pit and use the Longshot to cross the gap to the other side, then walk right through the wall in front of you! In the next room, use the Lens of Truth to point out the real skull on the pedestals. Then, push the bird statue so that its beak is aiming at the real skull to open the door. You can't reach that door yet because a chasm separates you and the door, so turn around and use the Lens of Truth to find two passages in the wall. Enter the one to the right and in the next room, walk through the wall and go right. Use the Lens of Truth to reveal another secret area in the right wall. Enter that room and defeat the zombies and bats to get the Map then go back to the previous room and go right. Use the Lens of Truth to find yet another passage and go through it to reach the next room. In the next area, take the right path and walk to the end of the room and walk through the wall at the corner and open the door to the next room. In this room, you'll see four arms sticking out of the ground. Let one capture you, then the main enemy will appear. Struggle to get out of the hand's grasp, then as the enemy lowers its head, attack with your sword. Repeat the process until he's defeated to get the Hover Boots, which let you walk across water and air for a short period of time! After you get the boots; backtrack to the room with the bird statue and the door across the chasm and strap on your Hover Boots. Run across the chasm and go through the door to the next room. Go down the hill in the next room and defeat the Beamos statue with bombs, and then walk through the wall to the left. Find all the silver rupees to open the gate and get a key from the chest. Go back to the last room and bomb the remaining wall to the left and enter that room using a key. Run all the way to the big, open section of the room while destroying the Skulltulas along the way. Then, jump from platform to platform while avoiding getting cut by the guillotines until you reach the back of the room. Defeat the Stalfos Knight here and go right and wait for the moving platform to reach its lowest point, then jump down onto it! When it gets high enough, jump onto the small ledge to the right and walk along it to the other plateau. Get all the visible silver rupees then bomb the Beamos statue to find the last one to open the door. In the next room, use the Lens of Truth on the wall to the right to find a hidden block. Pull the block out to the center of the room and push it through the room because it protects you from the spikes from above! At the end of the path, get to the other side of the block and climb on top of it, and then jump to the ledge to the right near the jail cell. Push the switch there, and it'll make a chest containing a key appear. Use the Longshot on the chest to cross the gap to reach the key. Now, leave the room and go back to the previous room. Cross the small ledge to the platform halfway across and jump down to the platform with the guillotine. Use the Lens of Truth to reveal the hidden platforms behind the one you're on and jump onto the first one and wait for the moving platform to reach you, then jump on! Ride it to the door and enter the next room using a key. In the next room, use the Longshot and the Hover Boots to collect all the silver rupees, then enter the door that just opened. Climb up the ledges to the top and throw a Bomb Flower into the flames of the moving skull statues. Do that until all three statues are destroyed, then drop down and get a key. Go back to the room you were just in and use the Lens of Truth to reveal all the Longshot targets, spikes, and ledges and aim at the target above the door to the left. Enter that door with a key and put on your Iron Boots and walk past the Blade Traps and going against the fan's wind gusts. Continue until you reach a pit, then use the Longshot on a wooden pole on the ceiling to cross the gap! Then, drop into the second pit in front of you and keep your Iron Boots on so you don't get blown away. When you reach the door, turn around and put on your Hover Boots and use the Lens of Truth to reveal the area behind the wall. Have the fan blow you across the gap to that hidden section and open the door to the next room. In the next room, put a bomb on the garbage pile and then use the Lens of Truth and it'll reveal a chest with a key. Defeat the two mummies there and open the chest to get five rupees, then open the door with a key and enter the next room. In the next room, pull the block along its path until it falls into the small crease in the floor. Then, climb onto the block and jump onto the higher ledge and jump onto the ship nearby. Play Zelda's Lullaby on the Triforce symbol to get the ship moving. Defeat the Stalfos along your journey and when the ship stops at the end, put on your Hover Boots and run towards the dock down below. When you touch the ground, enter the door nearby to the next room and make your way through the maze of invisible walls to the right side of the room and enter the door. In this room, the spiked walls will attempt to crush you in, but just use Din's Fire to destroy the walls and defeat the zombies to reveal the chest with the Boss Key! Leave the room and get across the room to the other side and use the Lens of Truth to reveal the hidden hand enemies. Defeat them and their smaller counterparts to get a key. Now, go back to the room where you landed after the boat ride and stand between the pots at the inner edge of the platform. Shoot an arrow at the Bomb Flowers to detonate them and destroy the base of the statue! Walk across the fallen statue and enter the next room with the key. Use the Lens of Truth and the Hover Boots to cross the hidden platforms to the Boss's Room! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Boss To defeat Bongo Bongo, shoot one hand with an arrow or two to freeze it. Do that to the other hand to freeze the other hand to expose the eye, which is the weak spot! Shoot the eye with an arrow and then run in and attack with the sword. Repeat the process to defeat it and to meet Impa again as the Sage! After she gives you the Shadow Medallion, head out to Gerudo Valley! ______________ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gerudo Fortress Go across the wooden bridge in the valley, then when you reach the broken bridge, use the Longshot to cross it!. Enter in the tent, and talk with the Carpenter. He'll tell you that the Gerudos capture their men. You must free them!. Continue to the Gerudo Fortress and as you reach the fortress, the Gerudo guards will capture you and put you in jail! After that, shoot the Longshot at the wooden ledge above the window to get out, then enter the fortress through the door to the left. When you reach the first carpenter, talk to him and fight the guard for the key. Then, follow the path outside and enter the door to the left. Go right and crouch behind the crate by using your shield until the Gerudo guard walks away. Then, exit the fortress again through the nearby door to the right. Then, go left and climb up the ledge and enter the left door before the Gerudo guard spots you and throws you in jail again! Talk to the second carpenter and defeat the guard to get a key, then free him. Go through the next door and exit the fortress, then jump off the ledge and enter the door in front of you. Talk to the next carpenter and defeat the guard to free him, then turn around and exit this room through the same door you entered. Climb back up the wall you jumped from and enter the door to the left this time. Get past the guards in the next couple rooms by shooting them with arrows and go up the stairs and exit the fortress yet again. Jump right off the ledge to the right and enter the last door and stand behind the crate. Pull out your bow and arrow, then shoot the guard the moment she comes onscreen and continue right. Talk to the final carpenter and defeat the guard to free him, then a Gerudo will come and talk to you. She'll give you the Gerudo's Card, which grants you access to any part of Gerudo Fortress without getting caught by guards! After that, exit the fortress entirely and look for a Gerudo in white standing next to a gated area. Pay her 10 rupees and you'll be given access to the Gerudo Training Complex! Gerudo Training Complex From the start, go through the left door and defeat the Stalfos within 1:30 to get a key. In the next room, use the Longshot to help you collect all five silver rupees before times up to open the door. Use the Longshot to reach the ledges leading to the door and enter the next room. In the next room, defeat the four Wolfos enemies and use the Lens of Truth to find a secret passage in the wall. Use the Longshot to reach the passage and enter the next room and drop down to the lower level. Shoot an arrow into each of the eyes of the statue to make a chest appear with a key. Then, jump across to the platform by the wall and enter the door to the next room. Here, use the Megaton Hammer and hit the sides of all the statues until you find the switch. Push the switch to eliminate the fire around the chest to get another key. Then, keep hitting the statues around until you find the eye switch on the wall, and shoot an arrow into the eye to open the door. In the next room, get all the silver rupees with the help of your Hover Boots. Push the switch to remove the flames around a silver rupee in the corner, then play the Song of Time near the high ledge to make two blue blocks appear. Climb the blocks to get a key. Then, go across the room to a side room and play the Song of Time there, too. Dive in the water with your Iron Boots and collect all the silver rupees with the help of your Longshot and by taking off your boots to float at times to get a key. Surface at the top and open the chest to get the key, then leave the room. Now, get to the left door and enter the next room. Defeat the Lizalfos and the Beamos statue to get another key. Now, in the next room you're back by the entrance, but enter the door to the right of you instead of leaving! If you follow this path the right way, you'll be able to reach the Ice Arrows in the big chest! Start by opening the door to the left, and then use the Lens of Truth to look up at the ceiling. Climb the fence-like wall and open the chest to get the key, then drop back into the room below. Continue left and open all the doors in your path and you should reach the chest with just enough keys! After you get the Ice Arrow, you can leave the complex. Head down to the gate to the desert and climb up the tall ladder. Talk to the Gerudo guard there and she'll open the gate for you. When you enter the desert, put on your Hover Boots and climb onto the nearby crate. Use the Longshot to cross the sand river to reach the other side and continue through, following the flags as you go. Eventually, you'll reach a stone structure, so go up the path surrounding it and climb to the top. Use the Lens of Truth to meet you ghostly guide through the wasteland, and follow the ghost through the desert. He makes very sharp turns, so be ready to turn with him, if you can! Also, there will be enemies along the way, so just avoid them as much as possible to not get left behind by the guide. When you reach the Desert Colossus, go right and bomb the wall between the two palm trees to reach the Great Fairy's Fountain! After she teaches you Nayru's Love, go back outside and make your way towards the Spirit Temple. Enter the temple, but since you can't enter it in any way, go back outside and Sheik will appear. He'll teach you the Requiem of Spirit, which warps you near the Spirit Temple anytime. After he leaves, warp back to the Temple of Time and become a kid again, then warp back to the desert. ______________________ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Spirit Temple Once you return to the desert, it's time to enter the Spirit Temple and clear sections accessible only to a child! Enter the temple and run up he stairs and talk to the Gerudo there. She'll introduce herself as Nabooru and she'll ask you to find the Silver Gauntlets in the temple by crawling through the crawlspace. Defeat the bats and the Armos Knight by using bombs or a couple well-aimed Bombchus, and then enter the door to the left. Defeat the Stalfos Knight, then aim your Boomerang at the flying skull and hit it with your sword to defeat it. Then, throw your Boomerang so it swings around and hits the switch, which drops the grate so you can walk across, then enter the next room. In the next room, destroy ALL the pots leading to the other end of the room, and then walk towards the center of the room. Make a slight turn so that the floating enemy passes you, then run to the other side and go as far to the end of the left platform as possible. Then, shoot the switch with the Slingshot to incinerate the enemy in the fire, and then enter the door to the next room! In the next room, collect all five silver rupees to drop the grate in middle of the fence and walk across it to the other side. Use a Din's Fire or a Deku Stick to light the two unlit torches to make a chest appear. Open the chest to get a key, then enter the door by the two torches and go to the next room. Now, go right and crawl through the small space and go up the stairs. Use the key to open the door and enter the next room. There, defeat the Skulltulas crawling on the wall, and then climb up it to reach the second floor! Defeat the enemies in the room, and then use a Bombchu to destroy the boulder surrounded by light on the rocky wall to shine light on the sun switch to open the door to the next room. In the next room, push the Armos statue right off the ledge onto the switch below to open the door upstairs. Then, run up the stairs and light a Deku Stick by the torch. Jump down to the lowest section of this room and light the two unlit torches to make a chest appear. Take the Map, then climb the wall by the Armos statue you pushed before and run back up the stairs again. This time, enter the door to the next room and go up the stairs to reach the third floor! Collect the five silver rupees and destroy the Beamos statues to reach some of them to make a lit torch appear. Light a Deku Stick, then run around and light the unlit torches to make a chest appear. Take the key and go by the four gray blocks. Pull one out of the way, and then pull the one with the sun switch on top towards the light on the floor to open the door. In the next room, go up the stairs and enter the room with the Ironknuckle. Attack its side and get ready for a long, fierce fight! Defeat it by repeatedly attacking its back and side with your sword while avoiding his battle- axe. I recomend using Nayru's Love. After he's defeated, go through the opened door and go outside. Take the Silver Gauntlets from the chest on the ledge and two witches will capture Nabooru! You can't free her now, but she'll be back later in the game! Now, go back to the Temple of Time and become Adult Link again, then warp back to the Spirit Temple. This time when you enter the Spirit Temple, go up the stairs and push the large silver block until it drops into a hole with the Silver Gauntlets and enter the next room. There, defeat the Beamos statue, then aim at the ceiling and use the Longshot or an arrow to hit the switch to open the two barred doors. Enter the left room and defeat the Wolfos, and then stand on the Triforce symbol and play Zelda's Lullaby to make a chest appear at the far end of the room. Use the Longshot to reach the chest and open it to get the Compass, then to exit the room, run across the sand below and climb the brick wall. Leave this room and enter the door furthest to your left and enter that room. Collect the five silver rupees to open the door to the next area. In the next area, defeat the Like-Like and open the chest that appears to get a key. Go back to the room with the Beamos statue and enter the middle room using the key you just got. Defeat the Like-Like and dodge the flying pots, then climb the wall at the other end of the room to reach the second floor! In the next room, defeat the hand enemy and its smaller counterparts then push the mirror with the reflection so it points at each of the sun switches on the wall. Keep aiming at the switches until you reveal the one that opens the door, and enter the next room. In the next room, defeat the Armos statue by the door by hitting its side or back, then run up the stairs. Put on your Hover Boots and face the big statue in the room. Use the boots to hover towards the right arm of the statue and land on its hand. On that hand is a Triforce symbol, so play Zelda's Lullaby there to make a chest appear on the other hand. Use the Longshot to reach the chest and get a key, and then drop down to the ground and head to the far end of the room where you entered this area. Look at the ceiling and use the Longshot to hit the target and get pulled back up to the platform and run up the stairs again. Enter the door there, and in that room, defeat the Beamos statue and run up the stairs to the next room. In this room, there are THREE floating enemies, like the one you saw as a child, but there's a much easier way to kill them this time! Use Fire Arrows on each one to defeat them, then enter the door to the next room! In the next room, stand in front of the locked door with your back to it. Then, aim your Longshot at an Armos Knight standing behind the switch nearby so that when it comes alive, it hits the switch! Enter the opened door and go up the stairs to the next area. There, go to the Ironknuckle and attack it by its side and get ready for a fight! (I widely suggest that you have the Biggoron's Sword with you before you fight him.) After you defeat Ironknuckle, enter the next room and you'll be on a ledge outside the temple with a chest. Open the chest to get the Mirror Shield, and then reenter the temple the way you exited it before! Now, backtrack down to the room with the Armos Knight and the switch and get to the far end of that room. Sand in the bright spot on the floor and aim your Mirror Shield so that it reflects the light onto the sun switch. After you open the door, enter the next room and take the key from the chest and leave the room. Enter the door to your right and then cross the next room. This time, enter the left door using a key and enter that room. In the next room, defeat the Beamos statues using bombs and then make your way to the very top of the moving wall. Once you get there, defeat the other two Beamos statues and go through the door and run up the stairs and enter the following door to reach the fourth floor! In the next room, stand on the Triforce symbol and play Zelda's Lullaby to open the door in front of you and enter that room. There, defeat the Torch Slugs using your sword and then pull out your Megaton Hammer and pound ALL the fake doors in the room. Then, go up to the eye switch on the wall and shoot it with an arrow to make an ice block appear above you. So, to reach it, use the Longshot on the ceiling target to get atop the blocks and hit the switch to make a chest appear on the ground. Open the chest to get the Boss Key, then leave the room! Now, go up the stairs and enter the next room and avoid the flying pots and go by the cell with a switch behind it and use the Spinning Sword Attack to hit it. Go through the door it opens and defeat the Lizalfos and floating skulls and then bomb the wall to the left of the mirror. Then, turn the mirror so it reflects right into the room you just bombed and hits the next mirror. Go to the second mirror and point the reflection so that it faces out of the bars and hits the big mirror panel on the wall. Get back to the room where you hit the switch and drop down to the floor and stand in the light spot on the floor. Reflect the light with your Mirror Shield so it hits the sun switch, which will lower the platform you were standing on to an area high above the second floor. Face the statue-like thing on the wall and while still standing in the light; reflect the light with your shield so it hits the carved face underneath the cobra head to open another door. Use the Longshot on the revealed door to get across the gap to it and enter that door to the next room. There, use the Boss Key to open the door to the Boss's room. Defeat the Ironknuckle in this room and then enter the door behind the throne to reach and fight the REAL boss! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Boss To defeat the bosses, Koume and Kotake, whenever they shoot their spells at you, reflect it with your Mirror Shield at the other sister. Repeat that process until they transform into Twinrova! This time, defeat them by using your Mirror Shield on three spells with the same powers. (e.g. three fire spells/ three ice spells) After you collected three spells of the same type, it'll shoot itself back at Twinrova and she'll drop to the floor. Run over and attack with your Master Sword or your Biggoron's Sword if you have it, Repeat that process a few more times to defeat it and be returned to the Chamber of Sages! There, the Spirit Sage, Nabooru, will give you the Spirit Medallion and tell you to go back to the Temple of Time. There, you'll meet Sheik again and he'll reveal that he's actually Zelda! After that, she'll give you the Light Arrows, which help you defeat certain things in Ganon's Castle. After that, Ganon will capture Zelda and bring her to his castle, so now it's on to Ganon's Castle! Get there by going through the ruins of the Market to the path where Hyrule Castle was. _______________ -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ganon's Castle Now that you're at the castle, stand at the edge of the plateau facing the entrance to the castle and the Sages will create a Rainbow Bridge for you! Walk across it to enter the castle, then once inside, and go down the hallway and enter the door at then end of this corridor. In the main area, go right and enter the door to reach the Forest section. In the next room, defeat the Wolfos and then use Din's Fire to light the first four torches, then look above the locked door to find the last torch. Shoot a Fire Arrow at the torch to light it and open the door to the next room! In the next room, use the Hover Boots and the Longshot to help you collect the five silver rupees and enter the next room. In this room, shoot the core of the Forest Barrier with a Light Arrow to destroy it, then you'll be warped back to the main area. From there, go down the stairs to your right and enter the Water section behind that door! In the first area of this section, fill a bottle with Blue Fire, and then melt the Red Ice blocking the other door. Then, defeat the ice enemies here and avoid the icicles, fill another bottle to go with Blue Fire, then open the door and enter the next room. In the next room, you'll see two large blocks sitting there, so get to the left side of the one furthest back and push it so it hits the nearby bump. Then, push it so it falls in the hole to the right, now get to the other block. With your back to the wall, push the block so it hits the bump across the room. Push it so it hits the second bump, and then push it all the way across the room so you can reach the switch on the high ledge. Use the Red Ice to get access to the switch, then use the Megaton Hammer to hit it and open the door to the next room. Go left and enter the next room, and destroy the core with a Light Arrow and you'll be sent back to the main area again! Now, make your way right and enter the Shadow section of the castle. In the first room, shoot a Fire Arrow at the torch to make some hidden blocks appear for a short time, so run across to the next real platform. Defeat the Like Like, then turn around and shoot the torch again to light it again. Jump across the gap to the next platform, then run down the ramp and hit the switch. Next, use the Longshot to be pulled up to the chest that appeared above you on the platform and open it to get the Golden Gauntlets! Then, face the inaccessible door and use the Lens of Truth to reveal some more hidden platforms. Walk across and enter the door to the next room. Destroy the core again with another Light Arrow and when you get warped back to the main room again, go right and enter the room there to enter the Fire section! Collect the five silver rupees (one is under the big, silver pillar, which you lift with the Golden Gauntlets, then use the Longshot to reach the door to the next room. Destroy the core and you'll be warped to the main area again, and then go down the stairs to the right. Use the Golden Gauntlets to move the silver pillar and enter the door to reach the Light section of the castle! Use the Lens of Truth to reveal the hidden enemies here, then defeat them to make a chest appear in middle of the room. Open it to get a key, then use it to open the door to the next room. In the next room, stand on the Triforce symbol and play Zelda's Lullaby to make a chest with a key appear. Take the key, and use it to enter the next room, and in that room, collect the silver rupees while avoiding the rolling boulders to open the door to the next room. Walk right through the wall in front of you, and destroy the barrier by shooting a Light Arrow at the core and you'll get warped again to the main area. Now, go right again and up the stairs to reach the Spirit section behind the door. Collect the five silver rupees by moving the Armos statues around so they keep the razor traps from killing you. Use the Longshot to collect the rupees in the air, then enter the open door to the next room. In this room, defeat the two Torch Slug enemies and use the Spinning Sword attack to hit the nearby switch behind the bars to make a chest appear. Open the chest, take the Bombchus, then face the switch further away and use a Bombchu so it goes over the bars and triggers the switch that opens the door to the next room. In the next room, shoot the cobwebs in the ceiling with a Fire Arrow to burn it down, revealing a light shining in the room! Stand in the light and use the Mirror Shield to reflect the light onto the furthest to the LEFT sun switch and then enter the door to the last room. Destroy the final barrier with a Light Arrow, then when you warp back to the main room, the BIG barrier in the room will vanish. Go right and cross the bridge to enter Ganon's Tower! Go up and defeat the numerous enemies around, and be sure to get the Boss Key from one of the rooms on the way up. At the top, enter the last room and get ready for a really long fight! To defeat Gannondorf in his human form, bounce the energy balls he shoots at you with the sword back at him. Then, when he's paralyzed in mid-air, shoot a Light Arrow at him to make him fall to the platform, then run in and attack with your sword. When he gets revived, use the Longshot on the stained-glass windows to get away before he uses a shockwave attack, which will throw you down to an area where you must climb ALL the way up to finish the fight again! Repeat this process a few times until he's defeated, but he's not finished yet! Now, follow Zelda all the way out of the tower and defeat the enemies along the way until you reach the end. The tower will collapse and you and Zelda will think it's over, then Gannondorf returns and turns into the beast, Ganon and he'll knock the Master Sword right out of your hand! To defeat him without it, shoot him in the eyes with a Light Arrow, then while he's stunned, crush his tail with the Megaton Hammer. Repeat this process quite a few times until he falls. Then, the fire surrounding this arena will disappear and you can take your Master Sword back! Repeat the process like before, but instead of using the Megaton Hammer; use your Master Sword. When you run low of magic for your Light Arrows, drink a green potion if you have it or hide behind a pillar and when it breaks, hope there's magic containers in it! Continue with your barrage of Light Arrows into his eyes and cutting of the tail with your sword until he falls again. If you are out of arrows, you can use the Longshot, but he will not be stunned for long! So hurry up, and hit him. Zelda will cast a spell and charge up your sword, then run in and attack for the last time! Link will literally cut apart his face; then deliver the final blow RIGHT in the head, thus defeating Ganon and beating the game! Congratulations! You've beaten Zelda :) Now, start a new game, and try to do it WITHOUT help :) Find all the items by yourself, all the hearts and the bottles without looking at this help :) ________________
