Stage Select + 10 Lives: On the Character Select Screen, press U D D U X B Y A; the screen will flicker if the code is correct.
Mega Warp Zone: On the Character Select screen, press CNTRL II: U D U X B Y A START. (Try this with CNTRL I as well if it doesn't work).
